Learning-Aligned Employment Program
The Learning-Aligned Employment Program (LAEP) allows eligible students at Los Angeles Valley College to earn money to help defray their educational costs while gaining education-aligned, career-related employment. LEAP provides eligible students with educationally beneficial internships that relate to their area of study, 职业目标, 以及学术目标.
Elegibility
Eligible students are from an underrepresented background and meet all the following criteria:

At least half-time enrollment

California resident classification

Satisfactory academic progress in a program leading to a degree or certificate

Demonstrated financial need

Eligibility to work in the United States

Must be cleared to work by Los Angeles Community College 区
Priority will be given to eligible students who are first-generation college students, current/former foster youth, 无家可归的人, or at risk of being 无家可归的人. Further priority will be given to eligible students majoring in a science, 技术, 工程, or mathematics (STEM) discipline.
The California Student Aid Commission defines underrepresented background as first-generation college students, 来自低收入家庭的学生, students who are current or former foster youth, 无家可归的人 students or those at risk of becoming 无家可归的人, students with disabilities, 失业工人, students with dependent children, formerly incarcerated students, undocumented students, students meeting the requirements of Assembly Bill 540 of the 2001–2002 Regular Session of the Legislature, and students who are veterans.
